HYDROBARLEY is an innovative social enterprise specializing in the production of livestock feed, providing concrete solutions to face environmental challenges in the agricultural sector.
By using hydroponics, which saves 1,500 times more water and 4,000 times the land for forage crops.
The company is producing and marketing green fodder, fresh, at affordable prices for small farmers and available throughout the year.
The sale of green forage Hydrobarley is maintained with a preliminary study to define the need of the customer, for whom an online platform was developed to customize the order as he wishes through the production unit setup with personalized support.
It also offers a diverse range of sheep fed by its green and 100% natural fodder.
Hanane Rifai, who's behind this sustainable project got inspired while a visit in Rabat suburbs, when she witnessed a high rate of children's school drop-out. These kids had to go "grazing" in order to help their families to have a standard living.
HYDROBARLEY came to save these children time, that is mainly supposed to be dedicated to schooling and to kid's joy!
This project, who's main goal was to get that village children back to school (SDG#4) also cares about the sustainable farming, has been successful in changing the lives of farmers in this village by allowing them to develop new activities in their fields and to have a new source of income to improve their standard of living.
